For an especially fast and above all safe pick-and-place process, gripper systems must be precisely tailored to the product. The weight of the gripper is a crucial factor, particularly for dynamic gripping processes (higher processing speeds). The food industry holds additional challenges: naturally grown food (e.g. vegetables, fruits, fish or other animal products) can vary enormously in shape and weight. The gripper must be capable of compensating for differences of the respective product. Other products, such as eggs or fish, are highly sensitive and can be damaged very quickly by the gripping process. Furthermore, a gripper has direct contact with the product. Especially high hygienic requirements apply to materials and construction. We have already faced these challenges many times in the past and successfully developed individual solutions for specific solutions.
